How large are the individual shadows in the palette?
If they are about the same in both, get the 120.
If one is larger, get that one.
If you are not going to need all that many colours, get the 88 one as you are not going to be stuck with ones that you don't use.
Get the one that basically looks like the best deal for what you are getting and for what you want.

It depends what is the brand. I would go with the 120 eyeshadow platte.
i trust the 88 more for some reason!
